The Seaford Wellness Council
We are a section 501c non profit
organization comprised of local citizens
whose mission is to assist in the
improvement of the Seaford community's
quality of life by promoting general
community wellness, including but not
limited to the following: 1) Organizing
activities that promote wellness such as
activity nights for the community children
to attend as an alternative to
non-productive activities, as well as
having Community Walk-Runs and Health
Fairs. 2) Organizing, promoting and
carrying out endeavors which beautify
the community and environment, parks
and other public places of gathering with
the purpose of fostering healthy
interaction, socialization and fellowship
within the Seaford community. 3)
Creating activities and presentations
which address issues of substances
abuse, nutrition, smoking, gender bias,
violence and physical and mental health.

The clean up and revitalization of a
once dismal looking World War I
memorial at the Seaford Train
Station on Sunrise Highway was
finally completed this fall on
October 12, 2007.
Hopeful Eagle Scout Kevin wanted
to make this change to respect the
World War I veterans and their
families and to better the
community.
We removed dead shrubbery, tilled
soil, painted the curbs, and planted
many flowers, shrubs, and small
trees. This was a very successful
beautification project for the
community of Seaford.
This was an eagle project for one
scout, but it was indeed a group
effort. Many people helped in every
aspect of the project: Kevin,
Michael & Carol DiSilvio, Donna
Kimick, James Quinn, Sharon
Jonas, the scouts of Troop 690,
and countless other helping hands
Thanks to renewed interest in
restoring and preserving the
memorial, we have been able to
bring back the dignity, respect and
aesthetics that it deserves.
We intend to engage local student
organizations and senior citizens
to maintain the site.
