The Seaford Wellness Council brought back the once popular Hot Chocolate Run on Saturday, December 4, 2004. This popular 5K Run was a favorite for many runners in the 1980s, as the course is fast and flat with only four right turns. Many PRs are set, and runners enjoy hot chocolate and bagels afterward. The awards ceremony includes first place overall male and female trophies as well as 1st, 2nd and 3rd place medals for males and females in age groups starting 9 and under, and every 5 year age group up to 85 and over.
In addition, trophies provided by the Seaford Lions Club are awarded to the 1st place male and female Seaford residents. Centipedes welcome! Medals will also be given to each runner in the first place centipede.
All proceeds from this event are used specifically for programs in Seaford, such as substance abuse awareness, health education as well as leadership training programs are sponsored to promote healthy lifestyles in our community. We endeavor to make this event bigger and better each year!
