After a busy spring, the Seaford Wellness Council is planning an even busier fall. The group met for the final time before the summer on June 21, and outlined many of its activities for the coming months.
“We have to be ready to hit the ground running when September comes around,” Seaford Wellness Council President Michael DiSilvio said.
Events will include a Friday Night Live activity night for middle-school students, the annual Field of Honor flag display outside the Seaford train station, the second annual Harvest Social for senior citizens, and the Hot Chocolate Run.

Wellness Council planning a busy fall (2015)

The Seaford Wellness Council has wrapped up another busy year, and it is already preparing for a host of activities in the fall.
The group, a non-profit organization devoted to activities that promote wellness and community beautification, will be taking the summer off after hosting its last meeting of the school year on June 16 at Seaford Middle School.
Over the past 10 months, the council sponsored its annual Hot Chocolate Run, put up flags at the Seaford Long Island Rail Road station for the Field of Honor, and funded the Seaford Middle School’s clean-up at the Tackapausha Preserve. It will be a co-sponsor for the final show in the Seaford Public Library’s concert series, which will be held on Aug. 15 in the train station parking lot, adjacent to the gazebo that the Wellness Council maintains.

Flags are flying in Seaford (2015)

Seaford Wellness Council spearheaded the installation of its annual Field of Honor in front of the Seaford train station on Nov. 7. It consists of dozens of American flags, which are placed there for most of November to coincide with Veterans Day. Volunteers from the Wellness Council and American Legion Post No. 1132 spent the morning installing the flags on the lawn between the station and Sunrise Highway.
